Project Life Week 24 – Scrap Goodies DT

Morning! I’m sharing my Week 24 project life today here and on the Scrap Goodies Blog, using the SN@P line from Scrap Goodies, you can find all the SN@P products here. Emma also has new Project Life core kits and albums products in store, and if you are like me and want to try a smaller pack than the full core kit, she has some 1/3 sample size kits for sale too: Honey and Kraft. I also used an older Prima alphabet and some rhinestones for embellishments.

This week was a hard one, that took me quite a while to work on. Something unexpected and awful happened during the week – a family member in an accident and taken to hospital – and it was something I would NEVER normally scrapbook about. I like to focus on positive things in life, and use my scrapbooking to help when things are hard, by looking at happy loving memories. I felt unprepared to manage this, it was such a difficult thing in my everyday life.

In the end I am so glad that I completed this week, because looking at it, only one pocket has a small cloudy envelope with some photos about this event, the rest of the double page is full of beautiful happy and precious moments. During the week it felt like the hard stuff outweighed the happy stuff, but looking at it on the page makes it feel quite the opposite, which is helpful.

One of the techniques that is fun when you get a whole pad of awesome cards to use is to cut out the embellishments and use them where they suit you. In my layout I cut out a lot of speech bubbles to use over photos, I cut out banner embellishments to use in my own Picasa photo collage, I cut tabs and phrases and moved them to different places on the card, and I cut around elements and tucked the photo behind. This helped the pre-layered look of the cards seamlessly include my photos and words, so they looked like they were part of the design rather than floating above it.

I love how you use the snap line. I can never seem to get it or pebbles to work very well. I sincerely hope for a speedy recovery.

I really like how you include the bad too – after all, it’s part of the week! I also like how you said your perspective changed about the bad vs. good week
